The defeat marked the fall of the Vijayanagara Empire and the city was abandoned, left to crumble over time. What remains today are the ruins, which have been meticulously preserved, offering a glimpse into the glorious past of the empire. Hampi’s captivating landscape, with boulder-strewn hills, the river Tungabhadra, and the ancient ruins, continues to attract tourists, archaeologists, and history enthusiasts, eager to explore the remnants of this once-great city.
